Sun PhuQuoc Airways approved for Airbus A330 and European expansion
Sun PhuQuoc Airways (SPA) has received approval from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam to operate wide-body Airbus A330 aircraft. This certification allows the airline to expand its flight network to include long-haul destinations such as Europe, Central Asia, Russia, Japan, and Australia.
The approval process was completed in less than six months, following the airline's initial Air Operator Certificate (AOC) received in September 2025. SPA welcomed its first Airbus A330 on September 22, 2026. The airline aims to use these wide-body capabilities to connect Phu Quoc directly to more distant international markets.
