Sun PhuQuoc Airways expands international flights and OTP in September

Sun PhuQuoc Airways (SPA) reported a significant increase in international operations during September 2026. The airline's international flight count rose from 414 to 570, a nearly 38% increase, raising the proportion of international flights in its total commercial operations from 13.2% to 18.5%.

Despite a 17% decline in total industry flight volume due to the domestic low season, SPA achieved an on-time performance (OTP) rate of 86.8%. This figure is 8.4 percentage points higher than the industry average of 78.4%. Specifically, at its main base in Phu Quoc, the airline's OTP reached 88%, compared to the airport's average of 75.6%. At Tan Son Nhat, SPA recorded an 87.2% OTP against an airport average of 80.8%.

The airline also expanded its fleet and technical capabilities, receiving its first Airbus A330 on September 22, which entered commercial service on October 3. Additionally, SPA launched a new Hanoi-Hong Kong route on September 30 and became the second airline in Vietnam to implement a Centralized Load Control (CLC) system to optimize weight and balance calculations.
