Sun Princess makes historic arrival at Taranto port

The Sun Princess, a cruise ship owned by Carnival Corporation, has docked in Taranto for the first time since its launch. This marks the largest vessel ever to berth at the city’s cruise terminal.

The arrival was marked by a traditional crest exchange ceremony attended by Taranto Mayor Piero Bitetti, Production Activities Councilor Francesco Cosa, and Port Authority President Giovanni Gugliotti. Many passengers on board originated from Australia.

The visit coincides with the Mediterranean Games, contributing to a significant influx of tourists in the city. Local officials noted that the arrival of such a major international company represents a strategic opportunity for the growth and future of the port's cruise traffic.
