Sun Siyam resorts achieve Green Globe certification in Maldives

Sun Siyam has announced that all five of its Maldivian resorts—Siyam World, Sun Siyam Iru Fushi, Sun Siyam Olhuveli, Sun Siyam Iru Veli, and Sun Siyam Vilu Reef—have achieved Green Globe certification. This international certification recognizes the group’s efforts in sustainable management, social and economic responsibility, cultural heritage, and environmental protection.

As part of its sustainability program, Sun Siyam Cares, the group focuses on reducing waste, protecting biodiversity, and supporting local communities. Notably, Siyam World operates a large-scale plastic upcycling center in collaboration with CLEAN Maldives to transform discarded plastic into functional items like outdoor furniture.

Additionally, Siyam World is celebrating its fifth anniversary with a series of events throughout October. The programming includes sports clinics led by professional athletes, such as a rugby camp with Danny Care and football sessions with Gary Cahill and Millie Bright, alongside various island-wide festivities and cultural celebrations.
