Sun Siyam Resorts achieves Green Globe certification in Maldives

Sun Siyam Resorts has achieved the Green Globe certification for its entire Maldivian portfolio, which includes Siyam World, Sun Siyam Iru Fushi, Sun Siyam Olhuveli, Sun Siyam Iru Veli, and Sun Siyam Vilu Reef. The certification is verified annually based on 44 criteria and 400 indicators.

Sustainability initiatives within the group include recycling 800 kilograms of plastic per month at Siyam World to create outdoor furniture, with 40% of the products being redistributed to local communities. Additionally, the resorts engage in coral reef restoration programs where guests participate in attaching live coral fragments.

Separately, Sun Siyam Iru Fushi in the Noonu Atoll has introduced a new nine-night experiential honeymoon program. The itinerary focuses on a mix of relaxation and exploration, featuring private dining, marine excursions, and spa rituals to move beyond traditional poolside activities.
