Sunarp expands registry services to rural Peru via PAIS Tambos

The National Superintendency of Public Registries (Sunarp) and the National PAIS Program, under the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion (Midis), have established a cooperation agreement to expand registry services to remote rural areas in Peru.

By utilizing the 522 existing 'Tambos'—territorial platforms managed by the PAIS program—Sunarp aims to reach populations in the sierra and jungle regions that face geographic barriers to accessing physical offices. This initiative targets over one million inhabitants across 22 regions, specifically focusing on those in situations of poverty or extreme poverty.

In the Piura region, thirteen Tambos in the provinces of Ayabaca and Huancabamba will serve as access points for more than 390 population centers. Residents will be able to perform various procedures, including property registration, inquiries regarding land, and the constitution of Simplified Closed Stock Companies (SACS), utilizing internet connectivity at these sites.

To ensure effective service delivery, Sunarp has begun training Tambo managers in the use of the Online Registry Publicity Service (SPRL). Training sessions have already been conducted in Tarapoto, Trujillo, and Piura to prepare staff to guide citizens through these digital registry tools.
