Sunchang County Council begins review of fiscal settlement and supplementary budget

The Sunchang County Council has commenced its 306th regular session to review the 2025 fiscal year settlement and the third supplementary budget for 2026. The nine-day session, running until October 11, focuses on ensuring that previously allocated funds were used for their intended purposes and evaluating the necessity of additional budget items.

Council members are expected to scrutinize budget execution rates, unused funds, and carried-over amounts to inform future policy and budget planning. Additionally, the council has finalized the schedule for the 2026 administrative audit, set to take place from October 22 to 30, to examine policy implementation and administrative accountability.

Council Chairman Oh Su-hwan emphasized that policies addressing local extinction, such as the rural basic income pilot program and measures to improve living conditions, must yield tangible results for residents.
