Sundar C defends Mookuthi Amman 2 CGI after AI criticism

Director Sundar C has defended the visual effects team of the upcoming Tamil film, Mookuthi Amman 2: Mahasakthi, following social media allegations that portions of the movie were generated using artificial intelligence.

Speaking at a pre-release event in Chennai, Sundar C stated that while AI technology is becoming more prevalent in the industry, the film’s graphics were primarily the work of a professional team. He noted that approximately 400 technicians spent nearly one and a half years working on the project, which includes roughly 3,000 graphics-heavy shots. The director clarified that AI was reportedly used in only about 15 of those shots.

Starring Nayanthara and Regina Cassandra, the film is produced by Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh under Vels Film International. It is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on November 6, 2026, during the Deepavali festive season. The soundtrack is composed by Hiphop Tamizha Aadhi.
