Sunday Afolabi discusses financial hardships and career setbacks

Nollywood actor Sunday Afolabi has shared details regarding a period of significant financial hardship following his relocation from Lagos to Badagry. Afolabi stated that his move, intended to facilitate building a permanent home, resulted in a setback for his acting career due to reduced access to industry opportunities.

During an interview on the ‘Talk to B’ show, the actor recounted selling his Nissan Quest for N180,000 after being unable to afford repairs. He used the proceeds to purchase a second-hand motorcycle, noting that he struggled to adapt to riding it. Afolabi also attempted to work in photography, but his equipment eventually failed.

To support his family, the actor turned to menial labor, including driving commercial minibuses, expressing a preference for legitimate work over begging. He became emotional while discussing the impact these struggles had on his wife and children.
