Sunderland striker Brian Brobbey signs contract extension until 2031

Sunderland striker Brian Brobbey has signed a new long-term contract that will keep him at the Stadium of Light until the summer of 2031. The 24-year-old Netherlands international joined the club from Ajax last summer and has since become a key figure for the side.

Despite Sunderland currently sitting at the bottom of the Premier League table, Brobbey has demonstrated significant impact, including scoring a hat-trick against Manchester City earlier this season. His performance has previously drawn interest from major European clubs, including Bayern Munich.

In addition to the player extension, the club's hierarchy has expressed continued support for manager Regis Le Bris. Despite a difficult start to the Premier League campaign, the board maintains confidence in Le Bris's ability to improve the team's results.
