Sunderland beats Torreense 2-1 in Europa League comeback

Sunderland secured a 2-1 comeback victory against Portuguese side Torreense in their Europa League group stage opener. After falling behind in the 37th minute to a goal by Volnei Feltes, Sunderland responded in the second half with an equalizer from Jules Ahoka in the 67th minute.

The match was decided in stoppage time when Noah Sadiki scored the winning goal. Sadiki credited substitute Granit Xhaka for the opportunity, stating, “Granit Xhaka told me to shoot. I did not hesitate for a second.”
