Sunderland Pursues Sporting Lisbon Winger Geny Catamo

Sunderland AFC have entered talks to sign 25‑year‑old winger Geny Catamo from Sporting Lisbon. Sporting consider the player integral and have indicated that any move would only be possible if the €60 million release clause is triggered. Catamo, a product of Sporting’s academy, recorded 13 goal involvements in 47 appearances last season.

The Black Cats’ interest follows earlier speculation linking the winger with Liverpool, while Saudi clubs and several French teams have also shown interest. Sunderland hope that securing Catamo will aid their push for European competition in the upcoming season.
