Sunderland to host Brighton in Premier League fixture

Sunderland will host Brighton & Hove Albion at the Stadium of Light this Saturday, October 10, for a Premier League sixth-week fixture. The match follows an international break and features two teams in contrasting positions. Brighton currently sits third in the league with 10 points, coming off a 3-0 victory against Arsenal, while Sunderland occupies 14th place with 4 points.

Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris is expected to deploy a 4-2-3-1 formation. The squad faces several injury concerns, including Dan Ballard, Brian Brobbey, and Habib Diarra. Wilson Isidor is anticipated to lead the attack in Brobbey’s absence.

Brighton head coach Fabian Hürzeler has urged his players to focus on the new challenge, treating the match as a fresh start despite their recent high-profile win. While Lewis Dunk is available to return from the bench, several players like Kaoru Mitoma and Evan Ferguson remain absent. The match is scheduled for a 3pm BST kick-off.
