Suneil Anand, son of Bollywood legend Dev Anand, dies at 70 in London

Suneil Anand, the only son of legendary Bollywood actor‑filmmaker Dev Anand and actress Kalpana Kartik, died at age 70 in London on 26 July 2026 after suffering a heart attack. He was travelling from the United States to India with a stopover in the United Kingdom when the cardiac event occurred; doctors planned a stent procedure but he suffered a second attack before it could be performed.

The family confirmed the death through a statement issued by his niece, Gina Narang, who asked for privacy during this difficult time. Suneil had debuted in the 1984 film "Anand Aur Anand", appeared in "Car Thief", "Main Tere Liye" and directed the martial‑arts film "Master" (2001). He later managed the family’s production company Navketan Films, coordinated the 2008 Cannes screening of the classic "Guide", and had spoken of plans to produce a tribute film to his father.

He passed away at the same London hospital where Dev Anand died in 2011, adding a poignant coincidence to the family's loss.
