Sung Hyun-woo denies fabricating Jeju Island knife threat story

Sung Hyun-woo, a former member of the boy group LIMITLESS, has denied allegations that he fabricated a story regarding a life-threatening encounter on Jeju Island to increase his YouTube views.

The incident originally occurred in 2021 when Sung intervened to stop a man from verbally abusing a foreign part-time worker at a restaurant. Following the intervention, the man allegedly chased Sung outside with a large sashimi knife. Sung reported the incident to the police, and later confirmed that the individual was detained on charges of special intimidation.

Due to recent discussions surrounding disappearances and deaths on Jeju Island, Sung's previous video about the encounter resurfaced, leading to online skepticism. In a new video, Sung emphasized that his account contains “no exaggeration or adaptation” and is based entirely on his personal experience. To address doubts, he shared official case inquiry records showing that the legal proceedings regarding the special intimidation charge were completed.
