Sungrow and Porcelanosa drive €150 million energy hub and solar plant projects in Castellón, Spain

Sungrow Renewables is moving ahead with a €150 million energy‑storage hub in La Vall d'Uixó. Mayor Tania Baños met with the company’s vice‑president, Winson Jiao, to review progress. The hub is expected to make the town a national reference for energy storage, support the ceramic industry, generate around one million euros of annual revenue for the municipality and create new jobs.

Porcelanosa has connected its largest photovoltaic installation in Vila‑real, comprising 5,808 panels that deliver 3,572 kWp across a 19,000‑m² site. The plant will generate about 4.29 GWh per year—enough electricity for roughly 1,280 homes—and avoid 1,843 tonnes of CO₂ annually. It supplies self‑consumption for two of the group’s factories, lowers energy costs and improves product competitiveness, with Iberdrola acting as the technology partner.
