Sungurlu Mayor addresses rising rental prices and housing demand
Sungurlu Mayor Muhsin Dere has addressed rising rental prices in the district, noting that rents reaching 30,000 to 40,000 lira are causing hardship for low-income residents. He attributed the increased housing demand to investments and employment growth in the defense industry, which has contributed to a population increase of approximately 1,000 people annually.
To mitigate these pressures, the municipality is focusing on urban planning and housing supply. Over 4,000 housing units have been licensed, many of which are nearing completion. Additionally, 364 TOKİ housing units are expected to be delivered soon. Dere emphasized that the housing market should consider all segments of society, including retirees and minimum wage earners, rather than solely focusing on high-income levels.
