Sunic System secures new OLEDoS microdisplay equipment order

South Korean OLED deposition equipment manufacturer Sunic System has signed a contract to supply OLED-on-silicon (OLEDoS) microdisplay deposition equipment to an undisclosed overseas customer. The company did not reveal the identity of the client or the specific value of the deal.

OLEDoS technology, which forms OLEDs on silicon wafers, is a critical component for next-generation high-resolution, low-power devices such as extended reality (XR) headsets and smart glasses. Sunic System claims to hold an 85% share of the OLEDoS deposition equipment market and expects the market for such equipment to reach approximately $800 million by 2030.

The company has a history of supplying tools to major industry players, including previous orders for BOE and Seeya. While Samsung Display has previously been linked to Sunic System for upcoming microdisplay lines, this latest order is noted as being unrelated to Samsung's specific projects.
