Sunil Jakhar blames AAP government for Punjab power crisis

Former Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar has accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, of ruining the state’s power sector. Jakhar alleged that poor administration and mismanagement of the electricity corporation’s finances have pushed Punjab into a severe power crisis.

According to Jakhar, the government has weakened the electricity corporation to serve political interests, leading to increased risks of power outages. He noted that both industries and domestic consumers are facing significant disruptions, with households experiencing hours of electricity loss.

The crisis is reportedly impacting the state's economy. Jakhar highlighted that despite the need for increased irrigation due to a weak monsoon, farmers are not receiving adequate power supply, particularly at night. He criticized the administration for prioritizing political survival over addressing the state's real issues.
