Sunlight Air adds Romblon route as AirAsia Philippines launches August low‑fare sale
Sunlight Air will begin direct service to Tablas in Romblon province on 11 August 2026, operating twice weekly with ATR‑72‑500/600 aircraft. The inaugural fare is set at ₱1,899, targeting travelers seeking a quieter alternative to nearby Boracay and promoting the island’s marble crafts and beaches.
AirAsia Philippines is running an “8.8 Sale” from 3‑9 August 2026, offering one‑way base fares as low as PHP 188 to domestic cities such as Cagayan de Oro, Bacolod, Kalibo, Cebu, Tacloban, Iloilo and Caticlan (gateway to Boracay). The promotion includes a PHP 600 Value Pack Lite with 15 kg checked baggage and seat selection, and supports the Department of Tourism’s “Discover More to Love” campaign.
Both initiatives aim to boost domestic tourism as travel demand recovers after higher fuel costs, providing affordable options for upcoming long‑weekend getaways.
