Sunlight Group enters Chinese shipbuilding market via Lehmann Marine

Sunlight Group, a member of the Olympia Group, has announced its first commercial entry into the Chinese shipbuilding industry through its subsidiary, Lehmann Marine. This move is part of a strategic plan to support the decarbonization and electrification of the global maritime sector.

Lehmann Marine has successfully delivered and commissioned its innovative CUBE modular battery system on the AESEN 116H, a high-tech hybrid fast crew boat. The system is designed to enable zero-emission electric sailing within ports and can reduce fuel consumption by up to 40%. The CUBE system features a modular design that allows for the inspection or replacement of components while at sea, eliminating the need for costly dry-docking. The technology holds several international maritime certifications, including BV, DNV, LR, and RINA.
