Sunlight Group launches maritime battery production in Xanthi

Sunlight Group has launched a new, specialized, and automated production and assembly line in Xanthi, Greece, for its subsidiary Lehmann Marine. This facility focuses on manufacturing advanced battery systems designed for the international maritime electrification market.

The production line has already successfully completed the assembly and quality testing of its first 82 CUBE battery units. The facility aims for an annual production capacity of up to 300 MWh for maritime applications, with potential for additional lines in the future.

The operational model integrates Sunlight Group’s large-scale industrial battery manufacturing expertise with Lehmann Marine’s specialization in the sale, installation, and maintenance of maritime energy storage systems. While automated assembly takes place in Xanthi, final Factory Acceptance Tests are conducted at Lehmann Marine’s facilities in Hamburg, Germany.
