Sunniggrat Hütte circular hiking route

A two-day circular hiking route is available around the Sunniggrat Hütte, offering panoramic views of the peaks in the canton of Uri and Lake Lucerne. The trek is classified as difficult, involving an ascent and descent of approximately 1,280 meters (4,199 feet).

The first day consists of ascending to the Sunniggrat with an overnight stay at the Sunniggrat Hütte. The return journey passes via the Leutschach Hütte, utilizing a section of the ascent route that provides views from a ledge. While the route contains some sections secured by chains on the second day, these are considered manageable in dry weather. Hikers should note there is limited shade along the path.
