Sunny Deol's 'Batwara 1947' Trailer Launched in Jaipur and Mumbai as Film Gets A‑Rating
The trailer for the upcoming historical drama Batwara 1947 was unveiled at two consecutive events: first at Jaipur’s iconic Raj Mandir cinema on 28 July, followed by a grand launch in Mumbai on 29 July. The film, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced by Aamir Khan’s banner, is scheduled to hit Indian theatres on 14 August 2026.
The Central Board of Film Certification cleared Batwara 1947 without any cuts, awarding it an Adults‑Only (A) certificate on 23 July. The movie runs for 145 minutes and 34 seconds. It stars Sunny Deol alongside Shabana Azmi, Preity Zinta, Karan Deol, Ali Fazal and others, and is based on Asghar Wajahat’s play “Jis Lahore Nai Vekhya, O Jamya E Nai,” depicting a Muslim family’s migration during Partition and their encounter with an elderly Hindu woman who refuses to leave her ancestral home.
