Sunny Deol's 'Parshuram' postponed as director Nikhil Nagesh Bhat shifts to Hollywood project

The film was slated to begin production in October 2026, but director Nikhil Nagesh Bhat has moved to helm the Hollywood action thriller "Deadlocked" for Amazon MGM Studios, starring Academy Award winner Jamie Foxx. Bhat’s commitment to the overseas project means "Parshuram" is now expected to be delayed until 2027, with producers considering either waiting for his return or appointing a new director. Meanwhile, Mythri Movie Makers is exploring the possibility of fast‑tracking another project, "Jaat 2", as an alternative. Sunny Deol’s schedule remains busy, with upcoming releases including "Lahore 1947", "Ramayana: Part 1" where he plays Lord Hanuman, and the high‑concept thriller "Antony".
