Sunny Point stabbing leads to arrest of 34-year-old suspect

A 34-year-old suspect, identified as J. L., has been arrested following a stabbing incident in Sunny Point. The arrest occurred after the suspect voluntarily reported to the Santo Dorp police station.

Earlier that morning, police responded to reports of an injured man in a field on R. A. Soerdjbalistraat. Officers discovered 21-year-old L. M. M. with a stab wound to his right side near the armpit. Family members had reportedly used a wheelbarrow to transport the victim from the field to a public road before authorities were notified.

The victim was transported by ambulance to the Emergency Department of the Academic Hospital Paramaribo for medical treatment. The Santo Dorp police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
