Sunrise Airways under Haitian government scrutiny for flight delays and service issues

Passengers, including singer Anie Alerte, have reported repeated flight delays, missing luggage and uncomfortable conditions on Sunrise Airways flights. Alerte said her flight left two hours late and her checked bag arrived dirty and opened, though all belongings were still inside. Other travelers have complained about lack of air‑conditioning, excessive heat on board and the impact on those with respiratory problems.

During a visit to Cap‑Haïtien, northern delegate Marc Présumé raised these concerns with Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils‑Aimé. The prime minister ordered the Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Communications, the National Airport Authority and the Civil Aviation Office to investigate the airline’s service shortcomings and to propose improvements. Sunrise Airways has not issued a public response.
