Sunsalat salad factory raided in Åstorp; seven arrested

Police conducted a large-scale raid on the salad manufacturer Sunsalat in Åstorp on Tuesday morning. Seven individuals were arrested during the operation, which included searches at the factory and three related addresses in Helsingborg.

Prosecutor Emma Adolfsson from the National Unit against International and Organized Crime in Malmö is leading the investigation. The operation was pre-planned and focuses on charges including serious human exploitation, though additional charges may be added.

During the raid, factory staff were forced to leave the premises and were transported by bus to the Vita villan in Åstorp. Sunsalat has faced scrutiny in Swedish media for approximately fifteen years, with previous allegations involving workers being paid for 25 hours while being forced to work up to 80 hours per week.
