Suntarine Perkins wins 2026 Chucky Mullins Courage Award

Ole Miss head coach Pete Golding has named senior linebacker Suntarine Perkins as the 36th recipient of the Chucky Mullins Courage Award. The award, sponsored by the Phi Beta Sigma fraternity, is presented annually to an upperclassman defensive player who demonstrates courage, leadership, perseverance, and determination.

The honor commemorates the late Chucky Mullins, whose football career ended in 1989 after he was paralyzed during a game against Vanderbilt. Perkins enters his fourth year with the Rebels following a 2025 season in which he recorded 81 total tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, and an interception. He was also named to the preseason all-SEC second team.
