Suntech Opens Frankfurt Service Center as Fonrich Launches PV Safety Lab in China
Suntech announced on June 29 that its new photovoltaic (PV) and energy‑storage service center in Frankfurt, Germany, began operation during Intersolar Europe 2026. The centre provides a full‑lifecycle framework for European PV projects, including product exhibition, technical exchange, project support, solution verification, training, after‑sales service and partner cooperation. Suntech also rolled out its SunStorage portfolio, ranging from 6‑54 kWh residential batteries to 261 kWh commercial cabinets, containerised systems and DC‑coupled inverters.
At the 19th SNEC International Solar & Smart Energy Exhibition in China, Fonrich New Energy and TÜV Rheinland launched a PV DC Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter (AFCI) Witness Testing Laboratory. The lab offers localized testing, shorter certification cycles (30‑60 % faster) and internationally recognised data for multi‑market approvals. Fonrich highlighted a three‑tier DC‑AFCI protection strategy covering module, string and system levels to address the high risk of DC‑arc fires that cause up to 80 % of PV plant incidents.
Both announcements aim to strengthen PV deployment by improving service infrastructure in Europe and enhancing safety testing standards in China.
