Sunu 37 milliards Collective challenges legal stance in ASER case

The Sunu 37 milliards Collective has called for firm action from Senegalese judicial authorities following developments in the 37 billion CFA franc case involving the Agence sénégalaise d’électrification rurale (ASER).

The collective is protesting a decision by José Gonzalez Tausz and his lawyer, Me Patrick Kabou, to no longer respond to summons from the Senegalese justice system. Instead, the defense intends to prioritize legal proceedings currently underway in Madrid, Spain. The collective described this move as a “manifest defiance” and “contempt” toward Senegalese judicial institutions, arguing that no individual can unilaterally decide which jurisdiction to obey based on their own interests.

The group further highlighted what they term an inconsistent pattern of behavior, noting that Gonzalez Tausz has previously initiated several legal actions within Senegal—including complaints against Seydou Kane and Deputy Thierno Alassane Sall—only to later withdraw or abandon them. The collective is urging competent authorities to address this refusal to comply with local legal procedures.
