Suor Enrica Barigazzi remembered at funeral in Palagano, Italy

Funeral services for Suor Enrica Barigazzi were held on the morning of 27 July in the mountain town of Palagano, Italy. The 89‑year‑old Franciscan Sister of the Order of the Immaculate had served as a Latin and Italian teacher, head of the local Institute of Teacher Training and later the Liceo Paritario di Palagano, becoming a central figure in the community's education system.

Mayor and provincial president Fabio Braglia spoke on behalf of the municipality and the province, describing her as a woman of rare integrity, simple manners and a deep commitment to the youth of the region. He recalled their joint efforts to keep the sole upper‑secondary school in the area open and praised her perseverance and faith, noting that “she built people, shaping generations of men and women”. The town gathered to mourn and honour her legacy, expressing gratitude for a lifetime devoted to teaching and community service.
