Supaul: Woman dies after 9-day religious ritual involving chest-placed kalash

A 35-year-old woman, identified as Sachita Devi, died in the Supaul district of Bihar after performing a rigorous nine-day religious ritual during Navratri. According to reports, Devi spent nine days at the Durga Mandir temple premises in Triveniiganj, where she practiced devotion by keeping a clay kalash (pot) on her chest.

After completing the ritual on Tuesday, she returned home, but her health deteriorated that night. On Wednesday morning, she experienced severe chest pain and was rushed to the Triveniiganj Sub-divisional Hospital. Medical professionals declared her dead upon arrival.

Dr. Umesh Kumar Mandal, a physician on duty, stated that potential causes for the death include extreme dehydration and heart-related issues. However, an official confirmation of the exact cause of death is pending further investigation.
