Słupca initiates citizen budget vote and Smart Village concept

From 2 August, residents of Słupca, Poland, can vote in the city’s 2027 Citizen Budget, choosing one of three projects – a Smart Public Toilet, a Dog‑Park called “Psi Fyrtel”, or a holiday‑lights installation. Voting runs until 21 September and can be done on paper at the city office or online via the municipal consultation platform.

On Thursday, the city held a meeting to develop a Smart Village strategy. Organized by the local development association ANMAR with support from the “Unia Nadwarciańska” fund, the session was chaired by Konrad Stępnik of the Fundacja Socjometr and attended by Mayor Jacek Szczap and representatives of NGOs, businesses and local institutions. The proposed Smart Village plan focuses on sustainable rural development through modern technology and community‑driven initiatives, and will serve as a tool to secure external funding for future projects.
