Spanish handball and basketball clubs begin new competitive seasons

Various Spanish handball teams have commenced their respective league and cup seasons with mixed results.

In the Liga Guerreras Iberdrola, Atlético Guardés secured a decisive 29-17 victory against Grafometal La Rioja. Key performers for Guardés included Rosane Serrano, who scored seven goals, and Cecilia Cacheda with five.

In the same league, Super Amara Bera Bera defeated Replasa Beti Onak. Despite an early lead by the visitors, a scoring drought lasting over twelve minutes allowed the defending champions to pull ahead and eventually win by a ten-goal margin.

In men's handball, Cajasol Sevilla BM Proin is set to debut in the Liga Asobal at the Amate pavilion against Cajasol Ángel Ximénez Puente Genil. Meanwhile, La Gimnástica Segoviana took the early lead in their competition following a victory over Calvo Sotelo Puertollano.

In basketball, Amics Castelló is preparing for its Copa España opener against TQ-CB Prat, while CB Algeciras begins its Copa España campaign at home against Melilla Ciudad del Deporte.
