Super Falcons seek Olympic qualifying progress against Comoros
Nigeria’s Super Falcons are set to face Comoros in the second leg of their first-round African qualifying tie for the 2028 Olympic Games. The 10-time African champions hold a 2-0 aggregate lead following a first-leg victory at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, where defender Michelle Alozie and forward Uchenna Kanu scored.
Due to Comoros lacking a Confederation of African Football (CAF)-approved stadium, both legs of the tie are being hosted in Nigeria. The Super Falcons are seeking their second consecutive Olympic appearance after qualifying for the Paris 2024 Games.
Interim head coach Augustine Eguavoen may use the return fixture to rotate the squad and assess depth. Potential changes include testing younger players such as goalkeeper Christiana Uzoma or midfielders like Suliat Abideen. If Nigeria advances, they are scheduled to meet Morocco in the third qualifying round in March 2027.
