Super GT Autopolis: Subaru BRZ secures record-breaking pole

During the official qualifying for the 2026 Super GT Round 7 at Autopolis, the SUBARU BRZ R&D SPORT, driven by Takuto Iguchi and Hideki Yamauchi, secured the pole position in the GT300 class. Yamauchi set a time in the 1:42 range, marking his 18th pole position in the GT300 category, a new record.

In the GT500 class, the 56th car, a Nissan GT-R, entered the race as the series leader. Despite starting 11th in qualifying, the team utilized strategic pit stops to manage the race. The event featured unusual full-weight conditions due to schedule changes in the season, and the race required two mandatory pit stops per car.
