Super GT Round 7: K-tunes RC F GT3 wins GT300 at Autopolis
In the seventh round of the 2026 AUTOBACS SUPER GT held at Autopolis, the GT300 class saw a dramatic victory by the #96 K-tunes RC F GT3, driven by veterans Morio Nitta and Shinichi Takagi. Despite two safety car periods and intense competition between Subaru, Toyota, and Nissan machines, the team utilized a strategic second pit stop without a tire change to secure the win.
This victory marks the first for the Nitta-Takagi duo since 2019 and extends Nitta’s record for the most wins in the class to 23. Due to penalties issued to the second and fourth-place finishers, the #360 RUNUP SOL GT-R moved up to second place, and the #65 LEON PYRAMID AMG took third.
In the GT500 class, the #100 Honda Prelude, driven by Naoki Yamamoto and Naoaki Makino, secured victory after starting from fourth on the grid. The race was marked by turbulent conditions following two safety car deployments. The #23 Nissan Fairlady Z finished third, marking a successful return to the podium for driver Katsumasa Chiyo.
