Super Mario Bros. Wonder receives fan-made Galactic expansion

Fans are developing a custom expansion for Nintendo Switch titled ‘Super Mario Galactic Wonder’. Developed by Team Fury, the project aims to merge the 2D gameplay of Super Mario Bros. Wonder with the cosmic themes and atmospheres of Super Mario Galaxy.

The expansion promises ten new levels designed to integrate recognizable elements from the Galaxy series—such as specific themes, items, and enemies—into the side-scrolling structure of the original game. Rather than a simple aesthetic change, the project seeks to reinterpret the 3D cosmic environments into 2D paths, utilizing adapted colors, landscapes, and creatures.
