Supergirl film posts weak box‑office debut amid mixed audience reaction
Warner Bros. DC Studios’ “Supergirl” opened in the United States and Canada with an estimated $38 million domestic gross over its first four days, roughly 24 % below analyst forecasts of $50 million and well under the studio’s expectations for a $170 million production. The film added about $30 million from overseas markets, bringing its worldwide opening to roughly $68 million. Critics gave the movie a low Rotten Tomatoes rating and audience exit polls recorded a CinemaScore of B‑minus.
In a separate note, the movie includes a brief cameo that features the voice of Seth Rogen as an alien bus driver in a post‑credits scene, linking the DCU to the Amazon Prime series “The Boys.” The cameo also references Rogen’s previous collaborations with director Craig Gillespie on “Pam & Tommy” and “Dumb Money.”
