Supergirl film starring Milly Alcock set for June 25 release
DC Studios announced its new live‑action movie "Supergirl," starring Milly Alcock as Kara Zor‑El. Directed by Craig Gillespie and written by Ana Nogueira, the film portrays a more unconventional, independent hero whose story focuses on personal trauma and her bond with the super‑dog Krypto, rather than relying on Superman’s shadow.
Alcock, co‑CEO Peter Safran and the creative team emphasized the character’s authenticity and courage, noting that the narrative asks “what burden are you willing to carry?” The movie will open in cinemas on 25 June, with early screenings beginning 23 June, and tickets are already on sale. The promotional rollout includes press events in Brazil, highlighting the project’s significance for the DC cinematic universe.
