Supergirl reaches number one on HBO Max global streaming charts

The DC Studios film ‘Supergirl’ has reached the number one position on the HBO Max global streaming charts. After debuting on the platform on September 10, the film climbed the rankings to lead in more than 54 countries, including the United Kingdom and Australia.

This streaming momentum follows a theatrical run that earned approximately $126 million worldwide, failing to recoup its $170 million production budget and $120 million marketing spend. The film’s rise to the top spot follows a six-day period where it trailed behind the 1998 film ‘Practical Magic’, which saw renewed interest following the release of its sequel.

Directed by Craig Gillespie and starring Milly Alcock, the film is part of the expanding DC Universe produced by James Gunn and Peter Safran. It is currently available on HBO Max, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD.
