Superhuman acquires AI meeting-notetaker Fathom

Superhuman is acquiring Fathom, an AI-powered meeting notetaker, to integrate meeting context into its broader productivity suite. The move aims to transition from simple transcription to “agentic” workflows, where AI assistants use meeting data to proactively prepare tasks, drafts, and follow-up actions across email, calendars, and documents.

Fathom, founded in 2020, has raised over $30 million and was valued at $94 million in 2024. The service boasts more than 400,000 monthly active users and has processed over 1 million recorded meetings.

Superhuman CEO Shishir Mehrotra stated that the decision to acquire rather than build internally came after internal testing revealed the technical complexity of creating a high-quality meeting recording and processing product. The integration will allow users to query past calls and retrieve details by date, person, or topic directly within their workflow.
