Laurențiu Reghecampf to return as FCSB head coach

Following a heavy 0-5 defeat against Universitatea Craiova, FCSB owner Gigi Becali has announced that Laurențiu Reghecampf will return as the team's head coach, replacing Marius Baciu. The decision comes after Baciu's tenure, which included 15 matches, failed to produce sufficient results.

Reghecampf's appointment involves complex negotiations, as he is currently under contract with the Tunisian club Esperance Tunis. While Tunisian media reports suggest he has not officially expressed a desire to leave his current club, Becali has indicated he is prepared to resolve outstanding financial obligations Reghecampf owes to Universitatea Craiova. Additionally, Becali has reportedly offered a one-million-euro bonus to Reghecampf if he successfully qualifies the team for the Champions League.

The coaching change follows a dominant performance by Universitatea Craiova, who secured a decisive victory at the Ion Oblemenco Stadium. FCSB management, including Mihai Stoica, noted that while Baciu was well-liked by the players, his leadership was insufficient to achieve the club's competitive goals.
