Supermassive Games lays off more than 70 employees
Supermassive Games, the UK-based developer known for cinematic horror titles such as ‘Until Dawn’ and ‘The Quarry’, has completed a round of layoffs affecting more than 70 employees. The job cuts impact various departments, including developers, artists, producers, and veteran team leaders.
Frank Tindle, a former IT and Facilities Director who spent 16 years at the studio, confirmed the news via social media after receiving prior notice that his position was at risk. The studio previously employed approximately 400 people.
In August, the company announced it was entering a consultation process regarding potential redundancies, stating the decision was a ‘necessary step to help ensure the sustainability of the company’. While the layoffs appear to have been finalized, Supermassive Games has not yet issued a formal comment on the completed process.
