Supermercados BH owner pauses football sponsorships in Espírito Santo

Pedro Lourenço, known as Pedrinho BH, the owner of Supermercados BH and Cruzeiro, has paused sponsorship investments in major football clubs in Espírito Santo. The decision is based on commercial valuations, with Lourenço stating that the amounts requested by local clubs have exceeded the costs of sponsoring teams in Brazil's Série A.

In 2024, Supermercados BH sponsored six of the ten clubs competing in the Campeonato Capixaba. Currently, the brand does not appear on the jerseys of any major teams in the state. However, Lourenço expressed a willingness to resume sponsorships if clubs adjust their pricing to align with market standards.

The announcement was made during the inauguration of a new supermarket unit in Vitória. The event was attended by Guto Mattos, president of Vitória, who presented Lourenço with an official club jersey.
