Supermodel Café receives stop-work warning in Southampton

Bethenny Frankel’s new Supermodel Café in Southampton received a ‘Warning Stop Work Order’ on its opening day. While the café reported an extraordinary turnout of over 700 people, local officials cited various compliance issues.

A representative for Frankel stated that the notice followed concerns regarding the high volume of attendees and noted that the team is working cooperatively with officials to address the matter. The representative emphasized that the notice does not require the café to close and business operations will continue during regular hours.

However, Southampton Town Public Safety and Emergency Management Administrator Ryan Murphy reported that the pop-up shop failed to comply with New York State and Southampton building codes and town ordinances. Murphy indicated that violations or summonses from the Fire Marshal’s office would also be issued for unpermitted signage and sidewalk obstructions, noting that corrective action had not been taken despite prior notices.
