Superservicios investigates ATESA waste services in Santa Marta

The Superintendency of Public Services (Superservicios) is investigating ATESA S.A. E.S.P., the company responsible for waste management in Santa Marta, following inspections conducted between March and April 2026.

The technical inspection covered various aspects of the service, including waste collection and transport, container system operations, street cleaning, and final waste disposal. Following the findings, the authority formally communicated its results to ATESA on June 30.

Superservicios has requested information from the company on three separate occasions this year—specifically on February 23, April 20, and August 12—to evaluate service conditions and the measures taken in response to public complaints. The agency is currently analyzing potential control actions based on the collected data and the company's responses.
