SuperStar singing competition returns with new rules and jury changes

The singing competition SuperStar is returning to television on September 2, 2026, airing on Markíza and Nova after a five-year hiatus. The new season aims to modernize the format to attract younger audiences while maintaining its traditional focus on discovering musical talent.

Host Leoš Mareš revealed that the casting process involved unexpected drama, noting that unspecified circumstances necessitated personnel changes within the judging panel. Despite these tensions, Mareš praised the current jury lineup, which includes Ewa Farna, Calin, Jakub Prachař, and Pavel Habera, describing them as an ‘all star team.’

Contestants aged 15 and older will undergo a rigorous selection process, beginning with traditional castings and moving into a ‘SuperSelection Top 50’ phase designed to test musical ability and performance under pressure.
