SuperStar singing competition returns with new season

The singing competition SuperStar is returning, with a new season scheduled to premiere on September 2, 2026, on the Markíza television network. The new jury panel will consist of Pavol Habera, Ewa Farna, Jakub Prachař, and Calins. Contestants will compete for a financial prize of 80,000 euros.

The upcoming season features various personal narratives, including contestant Karol Kotlár, who will be supported by singer Lucie Bikárová, and Lara Šámšonová, who is performing in honor of her brother. The premiere is expected to include a mix of high-quality performances and memorable, unsuccessful auditions.

In light of the show's return, past contestants who became television legends for their unconventional performances, often referred to as the ‘Star Infantry,’ are being recalled. Notable figures include Anna Gleisnerová, known for her 2004 audition, and Štěpán Turek, who performed the song ‘Velká diskotéková stávka’ during his casting.
